Mission and Goals

WHAT WE DO

Jumpstart Pittsburgh is based on the highly regarded and effective Jumpstart Germantown / Jumpstart Philly model by which individuals learn to source, fund, rehab, and sell (flip) or own and rent single and multi-family properties.  

We offer two program layers:

1) Jumpstart Curriculum- Education, mentorship, and loan program designed to help new and experienced real estate investors who live and work in the city of Pittsburgh's disinvested communities, to create safe and equitable housing.

2) Coaching Program - Designed to take Jumpstart grads from knowledge to application.

MISSION

To create socially conscious real estate investors who already live and/or work in Pittsburgh, thereby increasing homeownership, wealth, and prosperity in the seat of Allegheny County and, hopefully, inspire others throughout the state of Pennsylvania, since Jumpstart's program is in alignment with Governor Shapiro's Housing Policy.

OBJECTIVES

• Create a pipeline of socially conscious, homegrown investors

• Reduce blight by rehabbing dilapidated properties 

• Work with local, state and federal officials and regulations to increase safety, and compliance of rehabilitated properties

• Increase homeownership and take advantage of programs in alignment with our goals

• The entire Jumpstart program is anti-gentrification and unapologetically focuses upon educating and coaching women and diverse populations living in disinvested communities.
